The new MacBook Pro is here, and guess what’s inside? The all new, never had it before, Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors were there in 15in and 17in notebooks but the new 13in has Core 2 Duo chip. When this extremely fabulous stuff was launched giving that envious green look on its predecessors face! Apple has offered a 2.4 GHz processor in 13in whereas; it is 2.66 GHz in the £1,249 model. Actually, all the difference is brought by Intel’s 32- nanometer technology that has replaced the older Core 2 Duo 45-nanometer technology. And it is not just a new word, it’s more, it’s faster and more efficient processors. It’s all because of that thing called Hyper-Threading. The backup life has been expanded by replacing built-in powerful battery. That is, a two-Core processor handles four threads, by allowing two threads to run simultaneously on a single core. So, it works like that giving you with all that speed. And if you want to do multiple tasks all at once, the Core i5 and Core i7 will distribute the work more evenly among its cores. Furthermore, there is the Turbo Boost, which slows down or fastens the cores, in sync with the needs of the system.

Age of the universe, the discovery of dark energy, Hubble telescope explores the cosmos since eighty years. For Alain Lecavelier Ponds, the Hubble telescope is a “cornerstone in the understanding of exoplanets and now, today we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hubble telescope. What do you think the strong image that best symbolizes the activity of Hubble telescope? There are many. Those who touch me and that fascinates many people, take the structure of the universe, cosmology with galaxies colliding spectacular supernova. I look like an amateur … Others, such as the stereotype of the Orion Nebula, have a significance greater professionally. As a teenager, already, I watched with my telescope. The image of this nebula taken by Hubble telescope shows the planetary systems in formation, or young planetary systems and extrasolar planets, exoplanets, are now my research at the Institut d’Astrophysique de Paris. This is an area where, through its data, Hubble telescope is a cornerstone in understanding – first of the mechanisms at work at the time of formation of these planets, and then their evolution. It was well done after the birth of planets, it still happens a lot of things, that planetary systems continue to evolve … Hubble telescope systems which provides keys to understanding? Hubble telescope is part of a whole, but it is true instrumentation – including a spectroscope – has provided us with unique information. We lead by example, to probe the atmosphere of an exoplanet passing in front of its star. Like the HD 209458b – aka “Osiris” – that Hubble has surveyed in great detail. It has been noticed and the evaporation of Osiris. Warmed by its star, it loses its gas. A planet that evaporates, it was an unexpected finding that may explain the absence of planets very close to their stars. These observations were made with Hubble in the ultraviolet, through the spectroscope repaired by astronauts of the space shuttle Discovery. There is a know-how, a trademark Hubble telescope? Surely … There is also a do-that NASA through the Space Telescope Science Institute has orchestrated to make the comments available to the greatest number in a mix of science and communication. Hubble has become the ambassador of NASA – in some ways his award. It is also one of the best title to fame astronauts …. Without them and their maintenance tasks we would not be where we are. Even scientists who are not favorable to spaceflight agree …
And tomorrow you expect even more gains linked to Hubble? The harvest is expected to grow. Today we became aware of the variety of extracurricular planets, Hubble, Spitzer as that observed in the infrared, will allow us to observe tens, identify their differences and classify them. We will go further when it is considered the successor to Hubble, the James Webb Telescope will be launched in 2015. It will be much more efficient, will sail to 1.5 million kilometers from Earth – 600 km cons for Hubble – it will not be in Earth orbit and the objects under observation no longer be hidden, half the time on our planet! Still, the James Webb will not operate in the ultraviolet. Hubble will be the last space telescopes working in this field.

Google has been well known for its beta obsession as most of its apps were under the beta tag. But not anymore as google announced yesterday that starting today it would be removing the beta tag accross its Google apps like gmail, calendar, docs etc across consumer and enterprise versions.
Why Evolution from Beta is significant?
The very fact that google has let go of the beta tag means that its ready to claim that its products are ready to be considered stable and can be offered on a freemium model. This move is clearly targetted at the business community and to send a message out that Google apps can now be considered as a serious investment.
While Google has moved on from BETA Stage in terms of web apps it also made a significant announcement a few hours ago i.e. the announcement of the Web OS platform christened Google Chrome OS. In their own words “Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks.”
Here are some revelations on Google Chrome OS
Its an open source, lightweight operating system targeted at netbooks
Later this year its code will be open-source
By the second half of 2010 it will be available bundled with netbooks
Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS
OS to be built in a way to protect it from viruses, malware and security updates
Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips
Google Chrome OS is a new project, separate from Android
As its clear from the points above Google intends to hurt microsoft where it hurts the most i.e. Speed and security. They are making this browser for a web savvy early adopter who hates it when his or her machine get hung due to several OS processes which may not be required for his real requirement i.e. browsing the web.
Is this a huge threat to Microsoft Windows?
Well in the short term not that big a threat but in the longterm as cloud computing becomes a reality and speed and security is preferred over features then Microsoft would be very wary of this new competitor. What would serve Microsoft well would be if it can launch a Lite version of Microsoft Windows 7 targetted at the audience focussed on browsing and an option to switch to this Lite version from the main Windows 7 OS itself. Think of it like a web browsing mode just like safe mode on your current PC. All in all this is a BIG announcement by Google and the battle between Google and Microsoft just got even more interesting.
